This is NOT a good recipe for ribs. I much adopt the "Honey Ribs" recipe that's made in a slow cooker. These were banal and tough. Sorry!
10/22/2006
THESE RIBS ARE VERY TENDER AND VERY TASTY TOO!! TWO THUMBS UP!! IF YOU Similar THEM SPICY And so JUST FIRE'EM UP! OTHERWISE THEY ARE PERFECT! Thank-Y'all FOR SHARING YOUR RECIPE WITH US!!!
04/09/2006
The first time I fabricated this I fabricated the mistake of using long ribs - a greasy mess. Yet, the next time, when I followed the recipe exactly information technology came out slap-up and I had to share it with my boss! She caught me eating leftovers at my desk and they smelled so good I had to give her a re-create :-) Hubby and I both love it!
02/27/2010
I enjoyed this recipe, very much. My wife is still laughing, over having earlier read a review, from someone who after changing this recipe past substituting brusque ribs to long, and the wine to beer, (90% of they recipe volume) said they were unhappy by this recipe.
01/13/2013
This was fanTAStic. I did the long ribs. They were perfect! I used cumin instead of back-scratch, though. And I used Worchestershire instead of soy sauce. Oh yeah, and I added onion pulverisation. I used all ingredients (minus the ribs) as a "sauce" to marinate the ribs overnight (reserving half of it to use while cooking) then covered tightly with foil. I slow cooked them at 250 degrees for several hours while nosotros were out at a family unit function. (we were gone from 3pm to 6:30pm) They admittedly FELL off the bone and were sooooo tender! I had researched other recipes just this turned out to be the All-time launching pad recipe. This is going to exist added to the manus-me-downward family recipe box for all time. I might try to add cayenne pepper next fourth dimension though. That might only put this "insane" recipe right over the peak and commit u.s.a. all to the asylum! Everyone at the table kept proverb between bites, "mmm-this is actually, actually good." Honestly, there wasn't whatsoever intelligent chat at the dinner table this evening; just exclamations of delight. And once dinner was over, firsthand texting to friends about the great repast. My stay-at-home-mom, kitchen-cooking-ego is fit to burst!
09/06/2010
These came out wonderful!! I had to practise something unlike considering my grill broke and I was planning on BBQ ribs. I ended up trying this recipe and it turned out neat. I did do a couple of things different. I put all the sauce in with the ribs in a glass dish and covered it with foil for the first 15 minutes. Once the sauce had thickened up, I removed the foil, turned the ribs, brushed the sauce all over them and cooked for another 15 minutes without covering. They came out perfect! I will make this again!
03/21/2006
I started making this and realized that it just wouldn't have enough pizazz for me and my boyfriend'south spicy taste. I fabricated it as is with a little less olive oil, about 5-ten shakes of tobasco sauce, 1/2-3/iv cup of Famous Dave'due south Devil Spit BBQ sauce and a little chili powder. With the few modifications, information technology was excellent for me!
12/eleven/2010
piece of cake and fast and succulent! we used st louis style and didnt have red wine on hand, merely the ribs are all gone!
09/03/2006
An excellent safe recipe. Good flavour and tender ribs. Made my pregnant wife very happy in a meat craving moment.
08/thirteen/2011
I tried this recipe for the first time for our weekly Fri night family dinner. I followed the directions. The ribs were in the oven for nearly twenty minutes, I took a glance at them and constitute the sauce was burning and I had a horrible mess. I took them out right away. The meat was flavorless and tough, all of the marinade had burned off. We all agreed this wasn't a dish we'd endeavour again.
06/26/2006
I substituted beer for 2wine and used long ribs non shirot but I was non impressed with the flavor. Will non brand once more.
04/22/2011
This recipe turned out neat. I used boneless beef ribs instead. I like my nutrient with a kick so, I inverse the pinch of back-scratch to 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper, and instead of iv cloves of garlic I used 6. Finally I didn't have the red wine, so I used 3/8 cup of cherry-red wine vinegar and 3/viii cup of white vino vinegar. I was a niggling nervous about irresolute the wine with the wine vinegar only information technology turned out so adept! Even my 10 year old ate it and came dorsum for seconds. The sauce was so thick, information technology went great with the white rice I made. It would take been five stars merely the amount of olive oil was a petty too much. It was nevertheless delicious but a little greasy. Side by side time I will use ane/4 cup of oil (which is half of 1/2) instead.
12/fourteen/2008
Four stars from a family unit of ix! We really enjoyed how sticky the sauce became. Definately a repeat recipe.
01/28/2009
Very good, but it was more of an asian sauce than BBQ. I loved information technology my married man prefers BBQ.
07/31/2008
Me and my hubby made this repast and it was Yummy....Easy and Fun...and nosotros did information technology with pork all the same came out groovy..
10/24/2008
groovy recipe. used pork instead. and burnt the ribs, but really practiced. will make that again.
08/07/2011
Quick & easy. Tender & moist. Yummy flavor! I ran out of olive oil and had to sub. half canola oil, which may be the reason my sauce spread out and burned to the pan rather than thickening up.
06/x/2011
Had to make some tweaks...I used mochiko rice flour, white vino, maple syrup, and garlic salt instead of the regular flour, red wine, sugar, and soy sauce. Can you tell that I don't melt often? After boiling the meat and drenching it in sauce I ate a slice...tender and delish! Its in the oven at present, and Im sure the result volition be great. Thinking I'll chop up some onions and carrots for a quick side bake.
06/28/2015
The ingredients and proportions in this recipe are spot on, and would have been worth five stars had the recipe not called for cooking the short ribs at 425 for half an 60 minutes (ribs came out dry and overcooked the offset time around). The second time around, I heated the oven to 250 degrees, placed the ribs in a roasting pan with a cover, and cooked them low and slow for near 5 hours. The meat slid right off the bone and was tender enough to cut with a fork. Absolutely delicious. Edit 10/9/2016: Forgot to stress this enough in my original review; never boil ribs! The all-time flavors from the meat will end upward dissolved in the water and going downwardly the sink.
02/06/2014
This recipe was EXCELLENT! I made a few minor adjustments because my husband is cajun and doesnt like the gustatory modality of curry, and I detest humid ribs. I substituted a modest amount of paprika, chili powder, and a generous pinch of cayenne for the curry, and so I marinated the ribs in the sauce for 30 minutes. I baked them at 350 for an hour and a one-half, completely covers in sauce. My husband and 2 year old daughter were VERY impressed, this has become a new favorite in thr house, and the sauce is thick plenty to enjoy over rice!
06/14/2011
Very Quick. Non very saucy. I used apple tree cidar vinegar instead of red wine. I would make again...becarful the sauce burns fast!
02/16/2014
The meat would have been less chewy if it was RAW.
05/17/2013
I stock-still this recipe tonight for my married man and me and Wow! was it adept. I only tweaked information technology a little bit. We don't use alcohol, so instead of using wine, I used 100% grape juice. It came out succulent. This is definitely a keeper. Without a dubiousness I will use this recipe again and again.
06/17/2014
These were delicious did the recipe equally it was written and would use this again on our beefiness ribs!
06/19/2011
HORRIBLE. VERY TOUGH. COULD NOT EVEN CUT WITH STEAK KNIFE.
03/31/2009
The sauce was yummy! I seasoned my ribs with seasoned meat tenderizer, onion powder and beef rub. I cooked my ribs in the crockpot on high for 6 hours. Later, I drained them and rolled each rib in the yummy sauce (excluded the red wine.) I poured the remaining sauce over the ribs and placed them in oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees (long plenty) not toooooo tender, and definitely not TOUGH! Thanks and so much for sharing such a bang-up thought.
05/28/2011
This was bully! My husband doesn't like "sugariness meat" and this was savory enough for him simply sweet enough for me. I saved the sauce from dinner to use equally a dip for cocktail weiners and a sauce for hamburgers (allergic to ketchup). The only problem/question I have is that the oil? or something in the sauce didn't gear up up into the sauce but stayed seperate. Next time I might endeavor to decrease the oil since the meat is fatty enough. Even so really YUMMY!!
01/24/2011
This was a very uncomplicated recipe to fabricate, who could have thunk information technology!... ribs in 1 hour. And the gustation?... Well I would dearest to share these with the members of my church buti dont think they could handle something and so new an exciting... no their not set!!!
x/07/2011
Succulent recipe to cook ribs in an 60 minutes!! Covered with aluminum foil for the first ten minutes, then added the remaining sauce at the 15 minute marking. Flipped the ribs at the 20 infinitesimal marker. Maybe should've boiled them for 25 minutes to brand them more tender.
02/18/2013
Oh' WOW! made these ribs for my son's BD (he just turned xxx) I fabricated my own fiery hot Charcoal-broil sauce for them. I used the long beef ribs. Peppery HOT BAR-B-QUE SAUCE: 1 Cup apple tree cider vinegar, 1/2 Cup Brn.Sugar, 2 TBSP Roger'south golden syrup, 4 TBSP Worcestershire sauce, 9 TBSP chili sauce, viii oz. tomato plant paste, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard, 1/3 cup beloved, ane/4 cup finely chopped onion. MIX IN MED. sauce pan. Cook on low heat, stir occasionally until thickened. Makes about one 3/4 cups of sauce to baste the ribs.
08/25/2013
I changed it upwardly a bit....instead of blood-red vino I used Ice House Beer...instead of back-scratch I used red pepper flakes for a bit more of a bite......insanely proficient!!!
03/04/2015
I love this is fast, like shooting fish in a barrel and the family unit loved it
x/07/2015
This recipe resulted in bland & tough as nails ribs. Notwithstanding, the sauce smelled similar it could exist skillful if used as a marinade and then heated on the ribs low & slow.
07/21/2013
Liked a lot. I did however marinade mine overnight in a like sauce and then convection roasted. I and then cut the cooking short virtually 15-20 mins and put them on the grill. Mmmmmm. They came out peachy. Juicy, tender and merely plain Adept.
04/09/2011
This was okay, I call back I would like the sauch on chicken but didn't intendance for it on beefiness. But very easy bones recipe and yummy ribs, yummy sauce, just not so yummy together.
10/11/2010
this was very adept with beef dorsum ribs, I omitted the flour and in the futurity will cut the oil in half.
01/09/2014
This recipe is OUTSTANDING! Although the only adjustment I did was totally exempt the oil and double the sauce. I have made this recipe many times and anybody loved the adjustments. Cheers for sharing! This one volition always be one of my faves!
01/07/2013
The sauce was delicious, the iii stars are for the sauce. It needed mode more time in the oven to become tender, as ribs should. Next fourth dimension, I will bake with a foil seal at a lower heat for longer. That should solve the problem. I'thou going to try this sauce with chicken. Note: per calculations with My Fitness Pal, this is a very high calorie recipie best saved for cheat day.
01/06/2017
My family loved this recipe! I accept 5 kids and iv of them asked for a second helping. My hubby also said it was really delicious. The recipe is super easy and pretty quick to make. I did cut dorsum on the amount of olive oil I used and added heaping tablespoons of flour to brand sure the sauce thickened afterward reading prior reviews. I probably doubled the amount of garlic and also added onion powder. I served it with sticky white rice and stir fried some broccoli with garlic, olive oil, sesame oil and a tiny bit of soy sauce. I volition definetily make this recipe once more!
12/12/2011
Used boneless ribs.. plant a new favorite recipe so easy can exist fabricated any day of the calendar week
08/x/2013
Two days afterwards i made these ribs, my hubby is still talking well-nigh how delicious they turned out! I stuck to the recipe, let the ribs soak in the sauce for a few minutes to brand sure the meat would blot the flavors.
06/05/2014
This was Excellent!!! My husband was licking those fingers clean. Half way through the bake, I basted the ribs with a sweet BBQ sauce and put them dorsum in for the remaining 15 mins. Delish!! The only adjustment I would brand next time would exist to use a little less soy sauce, and add some fresh basis pepper. :)
05/25/2012
This was excellent. Using a dutch oven, I made a few small changes; I rubbed the garlic and curry powder into the raw meat instead of mixing it into the sauce and braised the ribs for most 2 minutes in a mix of olive oil and butter (about 1tbsp each). I and then added the sauce and moved the concoction to the oven. Hubby loved information technology.
x/04/2009
simply succulent!
05/21/2015
Merely made this tonight. Forgot to catch red wine on the fashion domicile, then I used some leftover blush instead. Baked it as instructed but over a veggie medley - parsnips, carrots and cauliflower. The gravy was insanely good - everything merely worked perfectly together. Even my picky xiii year old cleaned her plate! Definitely a keeper - yummy and easy!
03/18/2016
Drier and tougher than beef jerky
09/03/2017
The sauce/glaze was delicious. The cooking method was less than expected. The rbis were not even close to being tender. I will detect another cooking method just employ the same sauce.
08/27/2013
I added BBQ sauce and information technology came out sooooo tasty. My 5 year old doesn't eat a lot of beef simply she wanted more than.
12/11/2015
This was not good; the meat was tough and the sauce made a burned upward mess.
05/05/2011
This was my first time making ribs, and I was and so excited when they turned out DELICIOUS. I thought the sauce was a bit runny at beginning, but in one case information technology cooked in the oven, it thickened up. I also flipped the ribs one/2 way through so each side got well marinaded. Definitely recommend!
08/ten/2014
LOVED It! Great flavor, very tender, not bad recipe if you want easy and fast delicious curt ribs!
06/19/2013
sorry didn't similar the ribs in the end had to use bb sauce
10/12/2014
Nosotros found this recipe to be extremely bland. The sauce was less sauce than broth. I wouldn't effort this again.
02/xv/2016
I made this recipe tonight and my married man absolutely loved it! I will definitely exist making these beefiness ribs over again!
05/14/2011
For taste my hubby gave information technology four stars, only for ease of preparation, I give it 5 stars! I didn't have curry, and so I added ginger and it turned out great! I love the yummy, sticky sauce!
01/30/2016
I love this recipe! I am making it for the fourth fourth dimension tonight. I have tried it with regular ribs, country beef ribs, and this evening I am trying it on beefiness rib strips. The beefiness comes out very tender and flavorful. I made this for a church dinner and it was one of the first items to go! It is that good.
02/09/2011
I call back my cookie sheet was to big. My sauce didn't come out equally thick and I know I measured correct. Then the sauce simply spread across the baking sheet. Side by side time I would double the sauce recipe. Definitely needs the flour to thicken the sauce. Proficient flavor. Nosotros thought we could add bbq sauce for the terminal 10 minutes of baking fourth dimension or some ketchup to the sauce to thicken.
12/18/2014
The aroma, while it was cooking, led me to believe that this would be very tasty. I plant them very bland.
eleven/thirty/2013
Delicious! I needed a brusk rib recipe that didn't have 3 hours, yet would however turn out tender. This recipe fit that bill perfectly. I didn't have red wine, so I substituted onion soup mix and 3/iv c. of water, and I remember I'll brand information technology that style every time.....considering there WILL be other times!
06/12/2011
The sauce is to dice for. This was my get-go beefiness dish of quality so simple to make. Only proposition is to keep an eye on the fourth dimension. I constitute it to cook much more than speedily.
xi/03/2017
DO NOT boil meat
07/10/2015
Sauce is expert but I followed the recipe to a T and these ribs were chewy. I had the most premium cuts of short rib.
02/27/2015
I decreased the oil by half and still thought it was a bit likewise much. I followed the residual of the recipe a s written and supper was delicious!
10/05/2016
This was the driest, tasteless, toughest repast I've had in a VERY long fourth dimension. Followed the directions to a tee...I volition Not be making this again.
01/x/2020
The immpression I have is that this recipe was never used by the original poster, but, modified from another process "that seemed skilful at the time". Anyone rating this higher is clearly trolling the rest of us.
05/08/2018
I didn't have ribs..... I made the sauce co-ordinate to the recipe, but decreased the flour by one-half, and then added 1/iv tsp crushed red peppers. One time the sauce was combined I plopped in a frozen Tri-Tip roast, baked in a cast iron Dutch oven at 425° for thirty minutes, then reduced heat to 250° for effectually six hours. The sauce was plentiful and the flavor? I'm making it for my Mother's Day dinner. It'due south just that expert. Oh my! Served over rice with a green salad alongside. Thank you for a great and easy recipe!! I might have to get some ribs.... ;)
05/29/2020
Really delicious! Could benefit from a reduction in total volume of liquid by a ane/four or fifty-fifty a i/3.
05/17/2017
This recipe was OK, but there was not much flavor and the ribs were a bit on the dry out side and uninspiring. I volition not make this recipe again, so the search resumes for a juicier and more tangy beef barbecue.
01/thirteen/2016
I ordinarily make ribs in the crockpot simply needed something quicker this evening. This recipe is awesome. My married man says they're the all-time ribs he has e'er tasted. The ribs were actually moist and nicely seasoned and didn't fall off the bone. I expected the sauce to be a piffling thicker, but it worked merely fine. I will definitely make this recipe again.
09/25/2018
I have made this recipe COUNTLESS TIMES and it has come up out wonderful each and every time! Don't forget to marinate half style through and do non overcook. Delicious!
06/twenty/2017
The sauce/marinade tasted very very skilful and caramelized well over the ribs. I added salt and pepper to it and drenched them about every 5 minutes in the oven (at 400 degrees instead of 425) to get a expert coat. The beef even so was not very tender later on being boiled, and I may marinade or slow melt next time to try and go information technology more tender. All around good recipe however.
02/03/2015
Really good and fast! Didn't take red wine and so I did ii/3 sherry wine and 1/three red wine vinegar.
12/11/2017
This was easy and came out fantastic. I broiled information technology in the oven at 400 for 1 1/2 hours. Added some ginger. Delicious.
12/15/2012
This is very skilful beef rib recipe. I commonly do non melt beef ribs, just this recipe was full of favor. Volition definitely get in again.
xi/29/2017
Nosotros have made this several times only as written and without blood-red wine(nosotros were out). Admittedly delicious both ways! Nifty recipe!
02/xv/2009
This was a practiced recipe only nothing really fabulous. I won't bother making once again. They were only as well basic.
08/05/2015
Awesome recipe! I did drop the heat downwardly to 350 to go along the sauce from burning. When I make this over again, I plan on making up some extra sauce
03/08/2017
This season was absolutely delicious. Just wish the beef ribs had more meat on them. Cooked them in the oven for about 90 minutes to make more tender. Will try this again on pork ribs, it'southward that good!
05/21/2013
A piddling tough, merely insanely practiced flavor.
01/05/2016
Sauce was delicious. I did cut the oil in half and there was enough. Adjacent fourth dimension I will try in a crock pot.
03/10/2019
This was succulent as written. The only thing I did differently was to put all the ingredients, except the flour, in my instant pot. (I didn't call back to thaw). I added the flour to the sauce at the terminate and simmered until thickened. Will be making this once again!
01/24/2019
I give this a iii because the sauce was really good but the ribs were really tough and I followed the directions exactly.
10/06/2015
INSANE RIBS I accidentally misread the recipe and used red vino VINEGAR instead of red wine and information technology was delish! Actually made the marinade zesty and tart. I volition use this again and may fifty-fifty try it with craven, shrimp, pork.
04/06/2017
today is my 2d time making them and they are sooooo yummy,... i didnt add sugar or wine and put a teaspoon of back-scratch instead of a pinch., however the overall recipe is Swell!!
09/24/2012
Insane Oven Beef Ribs Haiku: "These ribs were okay. But the flavour was defective. All the sauce slid off." Enlisted my hubbs to make dinner and he chose this recipe, and he followed it to a T. They smelled great, looked tasty, but all the flavor that went into the sauce didn't actually cling or linger as much equally we would've liked.
11/30/2017
I had just 1/two Kg of moose ribs on manus so I halved the recipe. Holding the flour, I tossed all in a Sous vide bag at 68C for two hrs and did some homework. Finished as recommended on tin foil in the oven, flipping and dipping the ribs in the sauce again at the turn. Pretty tasty for chop-chop, toss'em in and go-on-about-your-business concern ribs. I'll do this once more with a whole handbag o'ribs! Prissy task, MELISSACK!
09/22/2017
Loved information technology .Didnt put all the wine in every bit I wouldnt take any to drink with the ribs
10/10/2017
My husband doesn't like tomatoey BBQ sauces. This receipe is just right. I tweeked it a fiddling bit by simmering the ribs in the sauce in the pan before putting them in the oven. I thicken the remaining sauce past reducing it, then calculation Wondra. I spread the thickened sauce on the ribs a few minutes prior to beingness done. Yum!
05/28/2015
It was amazing. My family loved them. This recipe is a keeper.
09/30/2017
I cooked them on the BBQ afterwards humid, basting them often. They turned out fine just not as tender as described.
05/14/2016
I thought they were very adept.I just used Baby Rays Sauce instead of making the sauce myself.Best part was my ameliorate half loved them.As a melt Id rate myself a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10.And so if I can do it so can you.
12/08/2019
Awesome. I added 1 cup of Makers Mark to the sauce, coated the ribs and refrigerated overnight. Awesome became STELLAR!
x/27/2013
Substituted wheat beer for read wine. Besides added a few dashes of ginger, a squirt of Sriracha and most 1/4 cup ketchup. First thing is this seems fashion too thin. Adjacent time I would rut information technology on the stove top and then add a tablespoon of corn starch mixed with a little common cold water, and so let that bubble for about five minutes. Then set aside to cool downwards. This should thicken it a fleck.
02/17/2020
Love it!! Will be making again
08/xviii/2019
I did change a few things. Past slower cooking in the oven they came out great!
08/20/2021
Loved this recipe! I read all the reviews so fabricated the following changes: scarlet vinegar vino instead of ruddy wine, cut the oil in one-half, and used a teaspoon of red pepper flakes instead of curry powder. Don't despair that the sauce is sparse at outset, information technology will thicken upward during cooking and you merely need to mix it well when you cascade in the balance of the sauce at the halfway mark. My hubby and I really enjoyed it and will certainly melt it once more soon. :)
10/07/2020
This turned out to be a great last minute recipe! I had to modify some things around because I didn't accept everything on hand and we needed to add actress spice. The recipe was very forgiving of the the changes. The ribs were juicy, tender, and total of flavor. My family unit ate them up and wanted more.
12/xxx/2015
The flavor of the sauce was great. I will brand it again simply volition accept lengthen the cooking time because the ribs were withal tough.
11/19/2012
the sauce was good, i modified it with worcestershire sauce...
